The WoW Shadowlands Season 4 release date and maintenance time has been confirmed by Blizzard for this week.
The development team will release the game’s next major update, adding eight dungeons from previous expansions, as well as fresh seasonal rewards, brand new affixes, and rewards.
But fans will first have to await World of Warcraft’s official server maintenance and leave all core services offline for several hours.

When is the WoW Shadowlands Season 4 release date?
The WoW Shadowlands Season 4 release date and time has been set for Tuesday 2nd August 2022.
World of Warcraft fans will have to wait for hours of server downtime, which is scheduled to begin at 7:00 am PT and end at 11:00 am PT on North American servers. This means that WoW Shadowlands Season 4 should begin four hours after 11am PT when the servers come back online.
Delays are always possible and players should note that the same update is not expected to arrive on EU servers until after 4am CEST on Wednesday 3rd August. More updates may be shared by Blizzard as we enter server maintenance on August 2nd.
As mentioned above, there will be a lot of new content as part of the new update, including a new Mythic+ dungeon rotation.
Blizzard has also confirmed details of a new raid experience featuring fated raids and empowered world bosses. Various raid settings will be activated, and each week the Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, or Tomb of the First raids will become Destiny. At the same time, the world bosses that are part of these experiences will also receive boosts, including the following:
Castle Nathria (one-to-one rotation)
- Valinor, the light of the aeons
- Mortanis
- Oranomonos of Everbranch
- Nurgash Muckformed
sanctuary of domination
- Mor’geth, tormentor of the damned
Tomb of the First
Fated Raids are intended to add a new challenge to the game that will allow earning Fated Infusion after killing one of the Boost World bosses. Fate Infusions are temporary powerful auras, while the rewards you earn based on difficulty can be converted into set pieces at the Creation Catalyst.
A message from Blizzard explains, “Entering any Season 4 Shadowlands Raid will start the ‘Crossing Fate’ quest, which starts a questline that rewards players for participating in fated raids over several weeks with a new currency: bis to 3 puzzles cartel dinar. 3 new merchants (Ko’ropo, Ta’choso, and So’turu) lurk near the Great Vault in Oribos and will happily exchange a dinar from the enigmatic cartel for their wares: trinkets, weapons, and unique items in the 3 Shadowlands raids with normal fate quality (item level 278-285). Defeating Destiny Bosses on Heroic or Mythic awards each player with 1 Confounding Cypher of the appropriate difficulty.”
