North Haven, Connecticut (April 1, 2023)–The Mount St. Mary women’s tennis team lost 5-2 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Saturday night at the North Haven Racquet Club in Quinnipiac. Victoria Papadopoulou continued her strong season with a straight set win at No. 1 in singles.
The Bobcats won the three doubles games and took a 1-0 lead. In single game Shirley Liang put the Mount on the scoreboard in a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jordan Bradley in 5th place singles. Papadopoulou drove to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Claire Koscielski in the No. 1 singles position, but it wasn’t enough as the Mount fell to 3-1 with the loss in the MAAC game.
The Mount will play another MAAC matchup at Fairfield tomorrow at noon.
