I’d like to start this week’s Wildcat Wednesday email by wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all are able to spend quality time with your family and loved ones this holiday season. We owe so much and I am very grateful to serve this outstanding athletics department and flagship university. The Wildcat Way is a very powerful mission for us as an athletics department, and it is a privilege to spend each and every day helping our student-athletes become academic, athletic and lifelong champions. Our amazing alumni, fans, and donors have made Arizona Athletics a premier organization for decades, and your enthusiastic support continues to make our athletics department one of the best in the nation. I want to thank you all for everything you do for Arizona Athletics, the University of Arizona and Southern Arizona. Thank you to the Wildcat Family for always representing Block A and showing the world what it means to settle down.

TERRITORIAL CUP

The 96th edition of the Territorial Cup will take place on Friday, November 25 at 1:00 p.m. (MST) on FS1 at Arizona Stadium. Our annual meeting with the North School is the nation’s oldest rivalry trophy game, dating back to 1899. Because our last Rivalry Game hosted during the COVID-19 affected 2020 season without fans, Friday’s game will be the first T-Cup match-up for the Wildcat Family, which will be at Arizona Stadium since 2018. I know the Wildcat Family is ready to fill the stands with the colors and play Bear Down with Coach Fisch and the Wildcats.

Friday will be a Red Out at our venue, so grab your favorite Arizona red gear and let’s make Arizona Stadium the Friday afternoon hangout. We’re also offering a Buy One, Get One Free ticket promotion for the few remaining tickets we have for the game. The Wildcat Family have shown a strong support of our football program this season and I look forward to another strong showing at Arizona Stadium. Bear Down and Go Cats!

STUDENT ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

We’re excited to share the stories of our student athletes with Wildcat Wednesday readers and shine a spotlight on the outstanding young women and men who are wearing the Block A. We highlight Arizona Men’s Basketball’s Courtney Ramey and Cedric Henderson Jr., who sat down to speak on this week’s episode of the Bear Down Podcast.

This is the official Arizona Athletics podcast available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Hosted by former Arizona softball star Kenzie Fowler Quinn, the Bear Down Podcast features in-depth and compelling conversations with Wildcat students, athletes, coaches and staff. Subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss an episode.

WILD HEADLINES

SHOW YOUR COLORS

Tim Woods, a ’04 alum and Thunderbird donor, wears the colors!

We live in Midland Texas and it was covering for your favorite team or college tag at my son’s school. He walked in his favorite U of A jersey. His name is Will Griffin and he is 6 years old.

Send us your photos of you in the colors!

Thank you for wearing the colors and sharing your Arizona pride! Make sure next time you wear the colors take a picture and send it to us, we might include it in next week’s Wildcat Wednesday! And even if your submitted photo doesn’t make it into next week’s issue, please check out our Wear the Colors album on Friday at facebook.com/ArizonaAthletics.

NOTE: Please send photos for Wildcat Wednesday using an original email to [email protected] and use the subject line “Wildcat Wednesday photo”. Also, make sure all submissions are clear and properly lit. We also ask that you identify everyone in the photo so that we can highlight them appropriately.

Bear Down and Go Cats!
