Why Do Fans Hate the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass?

With the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, fans have started criticizing the Battle Pass – here’s everything we know.

Each Season, Fortnite introduces a brand new Battle Pass for players to progress through. With new cosmetics, skins, emotes, and more to unlock, these Battle Passes are often the highlight of the season.

Unfortunately, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 has apparently failed to wow old and new players with its Battle Pass. While people have enjoyed certain aspects of this chrome-plated season, they feel the Battle Pass is really letting them down.

This isn’t the first time fans have been disappointed, as many have wondered why Imposters mode was removed from Fortnite.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass Explained

A number of new skins are available with the Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass. These are all available:

  • the paradigm
  • bytes
  • Meow Skull
  • Spider Gwen
  • lenox rose
  • grize
  • twin
  • The Herald

Spider-Gwen – whose design will be familiar to anyone who has seen the movie Into The Spiderverse – is a Tier 100 unlock.

The Paradigm, on the other hand, will be available as an instant unlock to anyone who buys the Battle Pass, albeit an unmasked version of it. Gamers could actually buy The Paradigm years ago, but she’s back now with a redesigned look and Brie Larson voicing her.

The villain responsible for all the chrome sweeping on Fortnite’s massive map, The Herald can be unlocked by following these steps later in the season.

Meow Skulls is perhaps the other most notable skin as it is a redesign of the iconic Meowscles skin that became popular a while back. This time, however, Meow Skulls has ditched the six-pack in favor of all-black clothes, ripped jeans, and a somber expression.

Fan Reactions to the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass

Despite the variety of skins, there seem to be a handful of main reasons that have made fans genuinely hate the new Battle Pass:

  • A lack of custom cosmetics
  • Little to no theming
  • Lack of Halloween skins
  • Contains some of the lowest rated skins in the poll

While the Battle Pass naturally has its fans, it seems that people dislike one or more skins, calling it one of the worst Battle Passes in Fortnite.

Lack of custom cosmetics

One of the issues that many have raised against this Battle Pass is how few custom cosmetics are available. Customizable skins can be changed with new styles, which are unlocked by completing various challenges.

Just last season, players received a customizable skin in the form of Snap. Players could swap out the head, arms, legs, and torso to create their own unique version, making it a far more interesting and dynamic skin.

However, apart from Byte’s pickaxe in the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass, there are little to no customizable cosmetics.

Lackluster theme and no Halloween skins

Theming in Fortnite Battle Passes has always been mixed. However, many feel that the Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass isn’t good enough to make its skins relevant to the ongoing story.

Fans have also cited the lack of Halloween skins as one of the biggest issues with this Battle Pass. With the Fortnitemares event just around the corner, many were hoping for more Halloween-related cosmetics.

Lowest rated skins in the Fortnite poll

Fans may vote for Fortnite skins in polls from time to time. The skins from these polls then appear in the game, although they aren’t always the top-rated ones.

Some fans have speculated that some of the lower rated skins in the poll were included in this Battle Pass. It’s possible that some of the skins that fans have speculated were rated higher may appear in the item shop at a later date. However, many still wonder why their favorites didn’t make it.

Of course, there’s a lot more coming to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 4, including the all-new slide kick mechanic.
