Netflix has become a movie fan’s paradise in recent years, offering subscribers exclusive content, popular movies, and even some more obscure endeavors from acclaimed and aspiring filmmakers.

So far this year they have revived the Texas chainsaw franchise, Rebel Wilson sent back to school senior yearreviewed Richard Linklater’s childhood Apollo 10½ and more.

For romantic comedy fans, on the other hand, the service recently revealed the story of an LA wine executive who signs up on a sheep farm in Australia in hopes of landing a respectable client.

Where was A Perfect Pairing filmed?

A Perfect Pairing was filmed in the Australian state of Queensland, with Netflix Life reporting that most of the filming was done on the Gold Coast.

The coastal city is world famous for its range of beautiful sandy beaches, water sports culture and inland canals. Thanks to park attractions like Dreamworld and Seaworld, it’s even more of a perfect tourist destination.

Additionally, The Cinemaholic notes that a number of sequences may have been filmed in the city and suburb of Nerang. Given that this is the Gold Coast, some viewers familiar with the area may recognize certain locations. Filming began in summer 2021.

Paying respect to the Kombumerri people

Suppose you are watching the end credits of the movie. If so, you’ll be told about other locations as well, because the filmmakers “acknowledge and respect the Kombumerri, the traditional owners of the Djagun (land) that make up part of the wider Yugambeh language region [they] filmed”.

So those places make it into the final version too, and it’s nice to see the locals of the region being recognized and thanked on behalf of the cast and crew.

The Kombumerri clan is one of nine named clan estate groups of the Yugambeh people.
