What are you playing this weekend? – Issue 461

Did you miss me?! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve had the privilege of hosting Wayp, but we’re still 461 issues deep and we haven’t missed a week. Thanks for the appointment, Ramsey-sen. Shall we continue then?

Sammy Barker, editor

I’ll probably play some gacha games on mobile this weekend because I’ve become a real badass.

Robert Ramsey, Associate Editor

With the Forspoken review wrapped up, I think it’s time to relax with some trails from Cold Steel II. The plan was to redo the entire series before Trails in Reverie comes out in the summer, but the crazy 2023 release schedule makes that very difficult.

Stephen Telby, Associate Editor

Aside from the one game I’m playing to review, I’ll try to continue my playthrough of Dragon Quest XI S. To my surprise, I enjoy it very much. Japanese RPGs don’t usually do anything for me, but this one really hits the spot.

Liam Croft, Associate Editor

I suspect my PS5 will turn on this weekend too. I want to play Hi-Fi Rush on my Xbox Series X and then Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope on the Nintendo Switch.

Aaron Bain, video editor

This weekend I will be taking on literally thousands of “Zex” locked and loaded in World War Z. It’s a fairly simple game, but I can’t overstate how satisfying it is to fight off a wave of maniacal zombies, especially now with the new Horde Mode XL on PS5.

Jamie O’Neill, reviewer

Considering I loved Joemsher’s Blazing Chrome and Sammy Vengeful described Guardians: Moonrider as “a cross between Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master SEGA Genesis and Mega Man X on the Super Nintendo,” I don’t know why I did Took 16 days to buy the gems for early 2023. I’ve cured my laziness now.

Scott McCrae, Reviewer

I will not be at PlayStation this weekend. Panic! Aside from a review I’m working on right now, I have Tango Gameworks’ new game Hi-Fi Rush in mind (a game that seems tailored to my tastes) as well as Goldeneye. 007 is busy trying to see what’s going on too. Above all.

Simon Fitzgerald, reviewer

After finishing Ghostwire Tokyo this week, this weekend I’ll be changing things up by jumping to Life is Strange: True Colors. I’ve played Life is Strange and Before the Storm and really enjoyed both, so I’m hoping this one will be more of the same.

Turns out Ramsay isn’t the only editor getting a great response on WAYP as it’s another busy week for our regular feature. But what are she to play? As always, let us know in the comments section below.
