Why West Virginia will win

The Oklahoma state’s criminal offense has gotten weird.

It was great in the first half of the season with lots of yards and not a ton of mistakes. The team was 6-1, all set to be in the Big 12 championship mix, and then it all went wrong.

Over the past month, the Cowboys have won 1-3, the offense hasn’t scored more than 20 points after scoring no fewer than 34 in their first six games, and turnovers started at 13 in four weeks.

West Virginia’s defense wasn’t anything special, but the offense has decent balance, there’s no problem checking the clock, and great things happen when the game in progress works.

Why the State of Oklahoma will win

And West Virginia is 0-7 when it doesn’t get to 200 yards. Oklahoma State only allowed over 200 rushing yards three times, and it’s 6-0 when allowing under 150.

This is home, the offense is coming up at over 400 yards, and…

What will happen

Oklahoma State will have an uneven — but fun — win.

The offensive might still have trouble closing drives and the attack will stall a bit too much, but it won’t be the past few weeks’ mistakes screwing things up.

West Virginia will keep the pace with a good tag from the passing game, but the defense won’t be able to hold on.

The Cowboys will end the regular season 7-0 at home.
