Peterborough Public Health this week resumed walk-in service for people aged 12 and over using the COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics.
A walk-in service for children aged five to eleven was already offered in the pediatric dose clinics.
People can still book appointments online at ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling 1-833-943-3900 to receive priority service at the clinics.
Clinics for those 12 and older who are eligible for a dose will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday, Tuesday, May 25, May 26 and May 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Healthy Planet Arena in 911 Monaghan Rd continued. at Peterborough.
The pediatric dose clinics for children ages five to 11 will continue Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm and Friday, Tuesday and May 26 from 2pm to 4pm at the Healthy Planet Arena.
The Healthy Planet Arena clinic is scheduled to close on June 1st.
Residents 60 and older are eligible for a fourth dose if they received their third dose at least three months ago. Fifth dose booster shots are now also available for immunocompromised individuals aged 60 and over.
Masks are still compulsory in the vaccination clinics of the health units.
Doses are also available from some local pharmacies, usually by appointment.
As of last Wednesday, 123,755 residents (84 percent) had at least one dose, 119,714 at least two doses (81 percent) and 79,552 three doses (54 percent).
Peterborough Public Health considers the COVID-19 community risk level to be high, the second highest on a scale of five.
Rapid Test Kits
The Ontario government continues to distribute free rapid COVID-19 antigen test kits each week, available while supplies last and while supplies last, with a box of five tests per household per visit.
The state government will continue the distribution until July 31.
Participating Peterborough locations include Brookdale IDA Pharmacy, Charlotte Care Pharmacy, Costco Pharmacy, Lansdowne Pharmacy, Loblaw Pharmacies at the Superstore, Your Independent Grocery and the George Street No Frills store, Metro, Pharmasave The Clinic Pharmacy, the Rexalls on George Street and Chemong Road, the Sherbrooke Heights Pharmacy, the two Shoppers Drug Marts on Lansdowne Street West and Chemong Road and Charlotte Street, the two Sobeys stores on Towerhill Road and Lansdowne Street West, The Medicine Shopper and the two Walmarts on Chemong Road and Lansdowne Street West.
