After the release of Titans Season 4 part 2 trailer, new details on the series crossover episode with star girl was revealed by its director.
Although star girl canceled by The CW, Brec Bassinger’s titular DC heroine is still poised to return for another adventure alongside the Titans.
Details of the crossover’s plot are still under wraps, but Ryan Potter’s Beast Boy is expected to feature heavily.
When will Titan’s crossover with Stargirl premiere?
Titans confirmed director Eric Dean Stanton further Twitter that featuring the crossover episode of the show star girl Premieres Thursday, April 20 on HBO Max.
Stanton also revealed that the episode is titled “Dude Where’s My Gar?”, with the director saying so “There is so much bucket listness” in the episode, which could have been the title:
“On 4/20/23 comes the comic that made me want to be a storyteller! #directorslife [‘Titans’] Final Season. “Dude, where’s my Gar.”
There’s so much bucket list in this episode that could have been the title.”
Bassinger previously confirmed the crossover by posting a behind-the-scenes photo of herself alongside Ryan Potter, Stanton and star girl Producer Geoff Johns:
As stressed by @StargirlWikithe crossover episode was supposed to be episode 7, but this new move confirmed that it’s now episode 9.
Also, this is the first episode of Titans be co-written by a cast member since Potter is one of the writers.
How Stargirl Fits into Season 4 of Titans (Theory)
Titans The ending of Season 4 Part 1 was quite unfortunate for the team as Mother Mayhem seemingly defeated the Titans. With the team gone, only Ryan Potter’s Gar aka Beast Boy remained, who was transported to the Reds (a force that binds all living organisms in the universe).
Given that the crossover sees Gar in a more prominent role, it’s possible that Brec Bassinger’s Stargirl will only meet the lone Titan member in the episode. While this is unfortunate, there is a possible explanation as to why this will happen.
Considering Beast Boy was transported to the Red at the end of Season 4 Part 1, it’s possible that the episode would feature his escape from this dimension, leading to a journey into the multiverse, specifically Stargirl’s Earth-2.
The downside to this theory, however, is that Stargirl or the Justice Society of America don’t know about multiverse travel, so it would be difficult for Gar to return to his Earth.
Another possible way for Gar to return to reality is that escaping the Red accidentally transports him to the Blue Valley (Stargirl’s town).
If this happens it would mean that the Stargirl who will appear in Titans is a different version than the CW series. (The Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover noticed that Titans And star girl are attuned to different realities.)
It remains to be seen if Bassinger’s Stargirl will have a brief role in the upcoming crossover, but seeing her return is already a win for fans.
Titans Season 4, Part 2 will premiere on HBO Max on Thursday, April 13 with two episodes.
