Lost at harvesta new film designed to reflect the struggles and aspirations of the generation born in the 1990s is slated for release later this year.

The film is directed by aspiring filmmaker Ma Xiaogang and casts young stars Zhou Zhengjie, Lu Yangyang, Luo Mingjie and Hu Jiaxin.

Based on real events, the film traces the life paths of two childhood best friends, following their journey from partners founding a startup together to rivals in the fiercely competitive world of business.

Ma said that during the 13th Beijing International Film Festival, the oldest members of the post-1990 generation have already passed the age of 30, and after more than a decade of pursuit, may have accumulated a wealth of experience and understanding of life.

“Some of them have started to miss their youth. The film is a nostalgic story that aims to resonate with this generation,” he said.

Producer Ren Wei, who also attended the festival, announced that project preparation began in June 2021 and filming will take place in 2022. The film is currently in post-production and is scheduled for release later this year.
