The sweet moment of Prince Louis reaching for the hand of Princess of Wales during the first royal engagement

Prince Louis began his first-ever royal engagement when he volunteered for the Big Help Out initiative on Monday – with a little help from his mother.

The Prince and Princess of Wales delighted volunteers from 3rd Upton Scout Group in Slough on May 8 when they brought their three children to help refurbish a scout hut as part of ‘Big Help Out’ – a special holiday for the volunteers is reserved for the coronation of King Charles III.

The family outing marked Prince Louis’ first royal engagement. The five-year-old got his hands dirty shoveling, painting and eating s’mores.

The royals also seemed appropriate in all-blue outfits for the occasion. Louis wore a light blue polo, navy blue shorts and black Adidas sneakers while his mother wore a blue button down shirt, black belted jeans and brown ankle boots.

A Video Posted on Twitter from the event also captured the sweet moment of Prince Louis reaching for Kate’s hand as the Princess of Wales shook hands with volunteers.

The clip tweeted by the user @ChristinsQueens, showed the Waleses leaving the scout hut after a long day of volunteering. Holding Louis’ hand alongside Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Kate stopped to say goodbye to a seven-year-old royal fan.

“Hello, nice to meet you. What’s your name?” the princess asked the young girl, who revealed that she was in the second grade.

As she spoke to the young girl and her mother, Louis could be seen walking to the gate and taking Kate’s hand back. She continued her conversation with the young girl, pointing out that Charlotte was a year ahead of her in third grade.

The video received more than 95,000 views on Twitter, when one fan commented, “So cute.” Another fan written down how tired the family must be after a long coronation weekend.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were welcomed by their three children at the coronation of King Charles III. accompanied on Saturday May 6th. The coronation service was held at Westminster Abbey, where Prince George served as one of his grandfather’s page honours. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were also spotted holding hands at the abbey.

The following day, a star-studded coronation concert also captured sweet moments shared by the family. Princess Charlotte appeared excited to see her father on stage, while both the princess and her brother laughed as Muppets characters Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog made a surprise appearance.
