Investigators said the 4-year-old girl from Cyril was killed on Christmas Day.

Flowers, teddy bears and a pink bicycle covered the stage as dozens rushed in wearing purple ribbons, Athena’s favorite color. State Senator Roger Thompson held her service. He spoke about Athena’s love for her sister, Baby Shark, and how deeply it touched those she had never met. All funeral expenses, including use of the Stride Bank Center, were fully covered.
