daredevil is making a comeback on Disney+. The streamer is reportedly developing a new series starring the Marvel superhero, played by Charlie Cox in the hit Netflix series. Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the duo behind the USA Network hit Covert affairsare appropriate to write and execute the new daredevil series, sources said diversity Thursday.
There have been rumors that Disney+ was looking to revive the most popular character from the Netflix Marvel shows since Netflix’s exclusive access to the characters ended. Marvel finally started using Daredevil-related characters last year, which featured Cox as Matt Murdock Spider-Man: No Way Home. Vincent D’Onofrio also played Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in the Disney+ series hawk eye.
Corman and Ord are best known for creating the Piper Perabo lead Covert affairswhich ran for five seasons on USA Network from 2010 to 2014. They were the showrunners of The CW’s limited series containment (2016) and the NBC dramas The Enemy Within (2019) and The brave (2017-2018). Marvel hasn’t officially announced the new Daredevil series.
although daredevil is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the series debuted on Netflix and made only passing references to the MCU. It ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018 before being canceled along with all other Marvel Netflix shows. Daredevil was invented by Stan Lee and Bill Everett. His real name is Matt Murdock, a lawyer living in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen. He is blind, but his other senses are heightened and he uses his power to defend the helpless. The character is also known as the man without fear. Developed by Drew Goddard, the Netflix series also starred Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Hensen as Foggy Nelson.
Disney+ recently released the six-episode series moon knight, starring Oscar Isaac in the title role. The next MCU series is She-Hulk: Lawyer, starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters. It debuts on August 17th. Marvel is also developing an untitled Halloween special that is scheduled to debut in October and a Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special for December. The next MCU theatrical release is Thor: Love and Thunderwhich will open on July 8th. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released earlier this month.
