The Lincoln Lawyer released on Netflix just a week ago and fans are already clamoring for Season 2, especially the rather shocking Season 1 finale.
The series stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Los Angeles defender Mickey Halle. Mickey, who works in a chauffeur-driven Lincoln Town Car, begins to investigate a case involving a man accused of killing his wife and her boyfriend.
IS THE LINCOLN ATTORNEY ON NETFLIX BASED ON A TRUE STORY?
The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix is not based on a true story but on the 2008 novel The Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly.
Interestingly, a film of the same name starring Matthew McConaughey in the role of Mickey was released back in 2011. Although the two productions share a common title, they are actually inspired by different novels from Michael’s series.
The film is based on the 2005 novel of the same name, while this latest Netflix show is based on the second book in the series (also called The Lincoln Lawyer). The latter novel is entitled The Brass Verdict and was published in 2008.
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE END OF THE LINCOLN ATTORNEY?
The tenth and final episode of The Lincoln Lawyer season one left fans begging for an explanation. Beware of spoilers ahead.
Throughout the series, viewers got to know Trevor Elliott, a billionaire played by Christopher Gorham. After finding their bodies, Trevor was accused of killing his wife Lara and the man she was having an affair with, Jan Rilz.
Mickey, who defended Trevor in court, was able to upset his client by arguing that the defendant did not have enough time to hide his gun and bloodied clothing before the police arrived at the scene.
However, as fans quickly discovered, Trevor was in fact guilty of the crime and was able to hide both his clothes and the gun using a drone. However, at the end of the last aired episode, Trevor was shot and killed while at a party celebrating a huge deal. A relative of Jan, Carol DuBois, pulled the trigger.
The final scene of the tenth episode leaves room for speculation about season 2. In fact, Mickey is seen walking around town with a stalker who is taking care of him, a mysterious tattooed man.

WILL THERE BE A SECOND SEASON OF LINCOLN LAWYER?
Although Netflix has yet to confirm a second season, the open-ended finale has left many fans hoping that new episodes of The Lincoln Lawyer are in the works.
There has been speculation online that the tattooed man dates back to an older case Mickey was involved in, one that eventually led to his addiction to painkillers.
According to these theories, the mysterious character is actually the man who killed Martha Renteria. In another book in the series, Mickey had defended Jesus Menendez, the prime suspect in Martha’s murder, who was found guilty and later exonerated.
We hope that more details about a possible second season will be released soon.
