The Last Kingdom: Season 6 – Everything you should know

Where the Vikings brilliantly portrayed the struggle of the Norse people against the English, The Last Kingdom Won the hearts of many with its intriguing setting, mostly centered on the civil wars in England in the 9th century and beyond. But as we’ve learned, all good things must come to an end, and that’s exactly what happened to the fan-favorite series when Season 5 was the last to be announced.
Now to the more pressing question of whether there will be The Last Kingdom: Season 6? Unfortunately, as far as the official word goes, the series won’t be returning for a sixth season, although the good news is that this isn’t the end of the road for Uhtred von Bebbanburg. Uhtred will indeed be returning for one final appearance in a feature film. So if that’s piqued your interest, here’s everything we know so far.
When is The Last Kingdom: Season 6 coming out?
The Last Kingdom: Season 6 has not been announced as in development as far as anyone can tell, there is no release date planned for this. On the plus side, a movie sequel titled The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die is to be published on 04/14/2023.
The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die will reportedly be an epilogue for the show, and it will tie up any loose ends and give the characters a chance right exit. However, there is a small chance that the film could pave the way for a potential future storyline. That doesn’t mean the show might be back next year, but a revival in the future doesn’t seem inscrutable.
As for where it will be available, if there’s ever a The Last Kingdom: Season 6 it will only stream on Netflix as the service has exclusivity to the series. The show used to air on BBC, but from the third season Netflix became its new home.

Who is in the cast of The Last Kingdom: Season 6?
With the current impression being that there will be no The Last Kingdom: Season 6, there is virtually no one reprising their roles. As for the movie Seven Kings Must Die, a few cast members have been announced.
If that’s not already clear then then Alexander Dreymon is back to play as Uhtred in a battle against anyone who resists a united England. Where Uhtred is, Finan needs to be there for you to see Mark Rowley also in action again.
Not much is known about the story of the feature film yet, but the official synopsis states that King Edward is dead and various factions want to get their hands on the crown. Edward’s death confirms this Timothy Innes will also return to the cast, while other characters such as Father Beocca (Sam Hart) and Brida (Emily Cox) who are already dead might just show up to pursue Uhtred or even help him. In any case, the film could easily set up a potential The Last Kingdom: Season 6, but fates will have to decide that.
