High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has confirmed that more of the franchise’s original stars will be returning for the upcoming season of the show.
Back for the upcoming season are Monique Coleman, Alyson Reed and Bart Johnson (via meeting). They will join East High School alumni Corbin Bleu, Kaycee Stroh and Lucas Grabeel, who will also be back for the upcoming season.
high school musical Fans had long speculated who would return to the show after the upcoming storyline for season four was announced, in which school became the filming location for the series High School Musical 4: The Reunion Movie.

The fourth season synopsis reads: “After an epic summer at Camp Shallow Lake, the Wildcats return to East High where they prepare for a stage production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
“But plans are disrupted when Director Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to do the long-awaited High School Musical 4: The Reunion Film on location at her beloved high school. Bleu, as well as Coleman, Grabeel, Johnson, Reed and Stroh will play themselves and revive theirs high school musical Roles as Chad Danforth, Taylor McKessie, Ryan Evans, Coach Jack Bolton, Ms. Darbus and Martha Cox, respectively.”
The season will also feature several songs from the high school musical Franchise alongside original music.

Disney hasn’t announced a release date for season four yet. However, Olivia Rodrigo, who said goodbye to her character Nini Salazar-Roberts in the finale, is not returning for the upcoming season.
After balancing her role on the show with a successful music career, actress and singer Rodrigo decided to quit after being a main character on the show since 2019.
