The manga Elusive Samurai has remained a steady hit for Shonen Jump, and it looks like it’s finally getting an anime adaptation.
In the latest print edition of the weekly manga publication, it was revealed that the series will be releasing an anime adaptation in the near future. It is produced by CloverWorks and directed by Wonder Egg Priority’s Yuta Yamazaki. Yasushi Nishiya, best known as Chief Animation Director for Pokémon the Movie: The Power Within and Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! is known, will take care of the character designs.
More information was also made available through an official website for the show. In addition to the information above, there was also a teaser video accompanying the news. The full video is below.
Not much more has been made available about the series, although more information will be revealed during a stage presentation event taking place on March 25th at the Aniplex booth at AnimeJapan, either as a release date for the project or some sort of extended trailer showing the anime in action .
Regardless, it’s a huge step forward for the Elusive Samurai series. Launched in January 2021 and written by Assassination Classroom creator Yusei Matsui, the story of a young samurai who finds passive ways to resolve conflicts has enjoyed general success as a weekly publication series in the magazine. It is also one of the few new offerings released in Shonen Jump in recent years that has managed to reach more than 100 chapters.
The Elusive Samurai can currently be read in full via the Shonen Jump official website and app. For more on all things anime related, we have a wide range of articles related to the medium which can be consulted below.
