The Crow remake, starring Bill Skarsgard, has wrapped filming

Bill Skarsgard played genre icon Pennywise in the two most recent Stephen King film adaptations It. It was announced today that he will play genre icon Count Orlok in Robert Eggers’ remake of the silent film classic Nosferatu. Between those two roles, he also spent some time working on a remake of The crow (watch it HERE) – where he takes on the role of Eric Draven that made Brandon Lee iconic in the original film. During a lengthy 10 week shoot The crow Filming took place at numerous locations in the Old Town and New Town of the Czech capital. One of the most important set pieces for The crow was filmed in Prague’s Rudolfinum Concert Hall and involved the participation of hundreds of extras in formal attire.

filming for The crow also took place in the Jewish quarter of the Czech capital and on the high-end Pařížská street, in the Municipal House and on Na příkopě and Nekázanka streets, as well as on Politických vězňů and Opletalova streets near Wenceslas Square and the main train station of the Czech capital.

In addition to filming in Prague, filming for The crow also took place in the brand new Penzing Studios outside of Munich. Some studio work also took place at Barrandov Studios in Prague.

Curiously, the documentation filed with the city of Prague seems to indicate this The crow was filmed as a six-part television series, but as far as we know it’s supposed to be a feature film.

Based on the comic series by James O’Barr, the first version of The crow was directed by Alex Proyas and released in 1994. It had the following summary:

The night before his wedding, musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) and his fiancé are brutally murdered by members of a violent inner-city gang. On the anniversary of her death, Eric rises from the grave and assumes the gothic cloak of the crow, a supernatural avenger. Finally, after tracking down and mercilessly murdering the thugs responsible for the crimes, Eric confronts master thug Top Dollar (Michael Wincott) in order to complete his macabre mission.

Skarsgard is part of the cast of The crow Remake of singer FKA Twigs who plays Draven’s girlfriend/fiancee and Danny Huston (yellowstone).

Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Hunter) directed this setting The crowbased on a screenplay by Oscar nominee Zach Baylin (King Richard). The remake is being produced by Victor Hadida, Molly Hassell, John Jencks and Edward R. Pressman. Dan Farah serves as executive producer.
