You don’t want to miss senior year, girl.

The latest comedy from Netflix, senior yearfeels like an homage to all those high school rom-coms that were so iconic that even today’s pop stars keep referencing them in their music videos.

senior year sees Rebel Wilson as a teenager in the body of a 37-year-old woman returning to high school after 20 years in a coma.

Netflix

In an attempt to reclaim her former fame, she shatters many high school movie clichΓ©s while also nurturing some. As she engages in teenage shenanigans, she realizes how hollow and pretentious many of the things many associate with being popular in high school are.

The film is a raunchy comedy that gets plenty of laughs. Let’s see what the internet says about the film.

I think that Alicia Silverstone cameo got everyone thinking clueless. I was wondering for a moment if this is a crossover.

@AliciaSilv’s irony of being a senior year Uber driver on @netflix when she’s a “virgin who can’t drive” should be appreciated by all millennials. #SeniorYear #SeniorYearNetflix

Some profound questions left unanswered for viewers to ponder.

1. She barely responded to the fact that smartphones are a thing. 2. Who has held up their highlights for 20 years? 3. Why is Alicia Silverstone an Uber driver when she has a Clueless poster in her bedroom? #SeniorYear #SeniorYearNetflix

Unlike comedy, justice in film was elusive.

Something I hate about #SeniorYear is that the ‘mean girl’ put her in a coma for 20 years but they never did anything about it, she went to jail

Very funny young actors cut a fine figure in supporting roles.

#SeniorYear is a fun nostalgic journey & all the casts are like young multi-talented theater kids πŸ₯° so refreshing to watch
