‘For God’s sake shut up,’ he recalled saying to her. “It was so wide! Every time she came with a big wide mouth and I said, “Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho, whoa! What do we do?”

Sandler also revealed that filming scenes with Aniston resulted in him being injured.

“Jennifer kicked me in the ribs on a take,” he shared, while saying that Mark Strong, who plays a member of the British Special Air Service (SAS), accidentally punched him in the face during a fight scene.

    ‘All accidents!’ interjected Jennifer.

Mark ‘didn’t mean it, but it happened,’ Sandler added. “He cracked me good.”

Things got comically awkward between the old pals when Sandler mentioned that he got his friends and co-stars Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade Maserati sports cars after they starred with him in the 2010 comedy Grown Ups.

‘You haven’t gotten the Maserati yet?’ Sandler asked Aniston as she let her mouth drop in mock shock. ‘When you come home tonight!’

“You bought your co-stars Maseratis?” she repeated.

Sandler saved face as Aniston pretended to walk out of the interview, joking that he had tried to give her similar gifts.

“You want to know the truth about Jennifer? I bought her three Ferraris,’ he said, opening the joke. “Every time I boot it up, a guy comes out and says, ‘Hey, get this out there,’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, this is a gift.’

“And the guy says, ‘Let’s go, keep moving. So I’m going down the hill as ghosts,’ he said as she stepped away from her chair.

After Jennifer returned, she added, “It’s alright, it’s alright. I don’t need fancy stuff.”

The two appeared to have an easy relationship, something they’ve developed over the decades, having first met in Los Angeles in their early 20s.

They first starred together in 2011’s Just Go With It and have since developed a strong on-screen partnership with their two Murder Mystery films.

In the new film, they play married couple Nick and Audrey Spitz, who have been private investigators since the events of the first film. The two are invited to the wedding of Maharaja Vikram Govindan (Adeel Akhtar), who is kidnapped before the ceremony, forcing them to switch to detective mode.

Towards the end, she singled out Braff, saying: “This film was written by the amazing @zachbraff during the pandemic. A film made from our souls and we’ve been lucky enough to have some bloody talented people who trust and follow us.

She posed for a photo with the Garden State actor alongside actors Celeste O’Connor and Chinaza Uche.

Gushing: Florence Pugh took to her Instagram on Tuesday to gush about her ex-boyfriend Zach Braff for her film A Good Person

Zach had his arms wrapped around the three stars and his head just above Florence’s when they all looked up and smiled at the camera.

The Little Women actress also shared more photos of Zach as he took on the role of directing the film.

In one photo, he stood with Morgan Freeman as the two laughed at something on his phone.

There was also a picture from one of the writer/director’s camera monitors working out a scene with O’Connor.

Florence brought some of herself on set. One of them showed her lying on the floor, snuggled up with one of her dogs.

The film follows Allison (Pugh) whose world collapses in the blink of an eye as she survives an unimaginable tragedy and emerges from her recovery with opioid addiction and unresolved grief.

Eventually, she forms an unlikely friendship with her would-be father-in-law (Morgan Freeman) that gives her a chance to get back on her feet and move forward.

Despite the Lady Macbeth actress and the Scrubs actor’s recent split, there didn’t seem to be any ill feelings from either side.

Friendly ex: The 27-year-old shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos from filming the film, including some of Braff
Capturing the moment: “This film was written by the amazing @zachbraff during the pandemic. A film made from our souls and we’ve been lucky enough to have some bloody talented people who trust and follow us.

On Saturday, Braff met Pugh’s parents and grandmother for dinner in New York City, but the beauty was nowhere to be seen.

They were also very cordial during photo ops at several screenings of their film.

Since the split, the star appears to have entered a relationship with Charlie Gooch, who she reportedly went to school with in the UK

The actress confirmed in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that she and the filmmaker went their separate ways in 2022.

The couple worked to keep their relationship out of the public eye, with Florence saying they plan to separate privately.

She said: “We tried to go through with this breakup without the world knowing because it was a relationship that everyone has an opinion on.

“We just felt like something like this would really benefit us if millions of people didn’t tell us how lucky they are that we’re not together. So that’s what we did. I automatically get a lump in my throat when I talk about it.”

Still close: Despite the Lady Macbeth actress and the Scrubs actor’s recent split, there seemed to be no negative feelings from either side; seen together at the London premiere of A Good Person

  • Tennis should be ashamed as Ukraine loses friend

    • Wimbledon is expected to lift the ban on athletes from Russia and Belarus
    • It’s a decision that comes from a surprisingly firm position from both the WTA and the ATP
    • Little has changed since last summer as Russia continues to invade Ukraine

A collective nose-holding may need to take place around Center Court this summer if a Russian claims silverware at Wimbledon if possible. Or maybe a Belarusian in the form of Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka.

Whatever has been going on in the world, tennis players from the nations conspiring to pulverize Ukraine have done perfectly over the last 12 months. As ever sunk in its wandering bubble, the professional game is content to look the other way.

In a deeply uncomfortable retreat, Wimbledon will officially abandon last year’s stance of banning players from the aggressor countries. It’s a pragmatic rather than noble decision, brought about by a surprisingly firm and unified position from WTA and ATP Tours, membership organizations seeking to defend their numbers from the sins of their governments.

The Princess of Wales, patron of the All England Club, has been kept up to date with developments. Should there be a potentially embarrassing finalist in early July, they wonder if she might find herself in another pressing commitment.

When Wimbledon embarked on its principled stance less than a year ago, the All England Club did not expect to be so isolated from the rest of the world. Apart from the odd Baltic nation or two, they found themselves largely friendless in SW19 – without the ranking points that give tournaments credibility.

The All England Club imposed the ban last year following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

Russian Daniil Medvedev is among those who could compete if the ban were lifted

Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus won the Australian Open and would be a contender for Wimbledon

If anything, the tours have hardened their position since then. Not only is there the repeated risk of Wimbledon being pointless, there is also the added risk of other UK tournaments marketing and selling their licenses abroad, Sportsmail revealed last month. Faced with this, the British game has settled on relegation as the least-worst scenario.

That it has come to this does not reflect well on tennis, whose official channels Daniil Medvedev no doubt celebrated as he recently won tournaments in the Middle East. The WTA in particular seems to care little about the feelings of its traumatized Ukrainian members. One of them, Marta Kostyuk, won an event in Texas last weekend and refused to shake hands with her Russian opponent.

Such scenes are entirely possible at SW19 this summer, not to mention other protests at such a high-profile event. Sabalenka, who has a real shot at the title on the pitch, was very publicly toasted to her victory in Melbourne by Belarus’ dictator Alexander Lukashenko.

The tours could have been more sensitive to all of this and with Wimbledon last year they could have accommodated something.

A small consolation for the AEC and their friends in government is that over the last 12 months the Russian and Belarusian players have been very careful to remain neutral, fearful themselves and careful not to jeopardize their chances.

Wimbledon have not always helped themselves, particularly in their communications with other bodies. Furthermore, the most difficult question to answer is what has changed since last summer? A prominent tennis nation continues to invade another, thousands die. While it is a very small part of a terrible situation, it feels like Ukraine has lost a principled friend.

Any reversal of last year’s ban would come even as Russia continued to invade Ukraine
Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk refused to shake hands with her Russian opponent in Texas

  • Influential TIFF programmer Ravi Srinivasan was passionate about films he believed in

Ravi Srinivasan attends the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. He was recently promoted to the influential position of Senior Manager of Festival Programming for TIFF.George Pimentel/Getty Images

Every summer the organizers of the Toronto International Film Festival are pushed to the limit. Or The Wall, so to speak – a room in one of the offices of the TIFF Bell Lightbox that is covered from floor to ceiling with the program of the festival. Hundreds of screenings are taped to the wall, a giant Rubik’s Cube of a calendar that you can rearrange and rearrange until everything fits just right. And last year, Ravi Srinivasan had to solve this jigsaw puzzle – one whose pieces contained not only the desires of TIFF organizers, but also the competing agendas and whims of movie stars, directors, and the highest order of Hollywood gatekeepers.

Freshly promoted to Senior Manager of Festival Programming for TIFF after nearly a decade programming seasonal Canadian, Filipino and South Asian cinema for the organization – a period during which he championed such films Antigone, The body remembers when the world broke upand Scarborough – Mr Srinivasan now had “the big, hard, hairy task of the festival,” according to TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey. And he accepted it with ease. Nothing in this film world intimidated him.”

“I walked past this small office with the door ajar and saw Ravi just standing there staring at this massive schedule – he was so excited to show everyone he could solve any problem,” recalls Anita Lee, head of TIFF programmers .

Robyn Citizen, Director of Festival Programming and Cinematheque at TIFF, adds that Mr Srinivasan has the perfect profile to be the organization’s lead Canadian programmer – by far the most influential role in the country’s film landscape – following the TIFF veteran’s retirement Steve Gravestock this month.

“Watching Ravi you saw a problem solver – he understood all the parts and diplomatic relationships that go into building an industry. But he was also forward-thinking,” says Ms. Citizen. “He had the passion, the grace, the knowledge. He was someone we had our eyes on for a while.”

On January 14, Mr. Srinivasan died at home from a brain aneurysm at the age of 37. His sudden death not only shocked family, friends and colleagues but, in the words of Ms. Lee, “left a huge hole in Canadian film.” In addition to his work with TIFF, Mr. Srinivasan programmed for Hot Docs, Reel Canada (which hosts National Canadian Film Day) and has served on the boards of Toronto’s Regent Park Film Festival and the Future of Film Showcase.

“He saw film not just as a formal exercise, not just as entertainment. Because of his Filipino and Indian immigrant heritage, he understood that representation mattered in everything he did,” says Mr. Bailey. “He embodied a new generation of people thinking about film in Canada.”

Mr. Srinivasan was also the connective tissue of a large, sprawling social network that included both the local film community and friends he made and nurtured while growing up in Sarnia, Ontario, a suburb of Corunna. According to Aisha Jamal, a friend and fellow Hot Docs, he was the “Energizer Bunny” — the big-hearted extrovert with loud shirts who knew everyone and who was dying to keep the party going.

But according to close friend and film programmer Adam Cook, part of Mr. Srinivasan’s enthusiasm was because he knew life could end at any moment. When he was two years old, Mr Srinivasan lost his father Thiruven. (At 21 he lost his mother Larraine to the same thing that would eventually kill him.)

“He had a tough upbringing because he didn’t have his father, and he was also raised as a colored person in a very white town,” says Mr. Cook. “That can make you someone who is cautious and not trusting, but he went the opposite way. He accepted everything with love and warmth.”

Adds Vivian Belik, Mr. Srinivasan’s friend and programmer at TIFF’s Cinematheque, “He was someone who was able to hold space for people. He held this candle for those who had gone through their own struggles.”

As he grew up, Mr. Srinivasan’s brother Hari took on the role of father figure.

“I’m 11 years older, so he started out as my little brother and then slowly became my best friend,” says Hari, who sometimes used Ravi as a kind of mascot, putting him on Dickie Dee’s ice cream truck he would bike around in the summer. “We struggled a lot growing up, it was hard for a single mom to raise the two of us but we leaned on each other.”

After studying Film and English at Wilfrid Laurier University, Mr. Srinivasan enrolled in a postgraduate program in Film and Television at Sheridan College. While trying to get an internship to meet Sheridan’s needs, the cinephile – armed with a passion for film but without a single industry contact – grabbed a copy of the TIFF program guide to cold call dozens of producers and production houses. So he phoned the producer Jennifer Jonas, who runs New Real Films with Leonard Farlinger.

“He had this great energy right from the start, he was sincere and a quick learner,” Ms. Jonas recalls. “And then Gravestock poached him!”

In fact, Mr. Srinivasan was hired by the TIFF team in 2013 after spending some time reconciling work with New Real and a night gig with the Canadian Opera Company call center.

“He had an infectious enthusiasm that can wane over the years, but that didn’t happen with Ravi,” says Mr. Gravestock. “If he liked a film, he fought for it. Tracey Deers beans is one that stands out. And he was the first to see Anthony Shims Riceboy is sleeping, which won this year’s Platform Award. He was anticipating trends and could always predict what TIFF’s Canadian judges would pick, which irritated me because I’ve been doing it four times as long and he was way better at it.”

After joining TIFF, Mr. Srinivasan traveled to festivals around the world, discovering new cinematic voices and dominating karaoke bars along the way.

“We took the stage at this random bar in Cannes where, without exaggeration, we brought down the house with our famous Linkin Park duet Finally‘ recalled Mr Cook. “I was Mike Shinoda, he was Chester Bennington. But he had quite a range.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Srinivasan continued to expand his social circle, to the point where even Ms. Belik – who Ravi met at a Hot Docs party in 2019 – was always amazed to discover new people he was friends with .

“We went to a party and I asked him, ‘How do you even remember everyone?'”

Programming for TIFF can be a tiring experience as Mr. Srinivasan screens more than 300 films each season. But somehow he also found the time to start his own film festival, the South Western International Film Festival (SWIFF), which was launched in 2015.

“His mission was to bring a culturally diverse experience to Sarnia, he wanted to push the boundaries of people,” says Tom Colquhoun, a childhood friend who has remained close to Mr Srinivasan since they met at the age of five had. “It was important to him to take this experience home with him.”

Since SWIFF’s inaugural edition, the festival has grown to include live concerts, virtual reality exhibitions and a lively industry summit alongside its series of feature and short films.

“Ravi was like the mayor of Sarnia,” says friend and former TIFF programmer Kiva Reardon. “And he convinced a lot of Toronto film people to go there by cramming the four of us into a room at the Holiday Inn. Some people grow up and move away and never want to think about where they come from, but Ravi wanted to make Sarnia a place he would have loved to have grown up in.”

After helping finalize the schedule for TIFF last September – its first fully personal edition after two years in pandemic-era hybrid mode – Mr. Srinivasan had the pleasure of watching one of his selections, the Pakistani film joy land, convince the festival audience. And thanks to the platform TIFF provided, director Saim Sadiq’s drama about a young man’s relationship with a trans woman was shortlisted for the Best International Feature Film at this year’s Academy Awards – the first time a Pakistani film has been received such an honor.

“Ravi was such an experienced viewer and such a passionate advocate that he was able to articulate both the formal qualities that made it interesting and why it was important,” says Mr. Bailey of TIFF. “Institutions like ours and others can do a lot to change conversations, but you need someone like Ravi to champion that and speak to audiences about it too.”

Ms. Belik was with Mr. Srinivasan when he saw it joy land for the first time last spring in Cannes.

“He never cried during movies or otherwise, but he just broke down at the end,” she says. “He was proud to be able to bring him to TIFF and then see him shortlisted for an Oscar. It was a beautiful moment.”

Mr. Srinivasan’s death came just under two weeks before TIFF launched its Canada’s Top Ten 2022 series, a program he was heavily involved in organizing.

“This is an unfathomable loss to the Canadian cinema community,” says Cook. “Film meant a lot to him personally. But with Ravi, everything was personal.”

  • How to restore trust in a relationship in 8 steps

Every good relationship is built on trust. It gives us the security to open up and be honest with our friends, significant other or spouse. When that trust is broken, it can be very difficult to trust again. It takes more than an apology or a promise to change. Words are basically useless at this point. Instead, action must be taken to mend a broken relationship. That means putting in some work and opening yourself up to vulnerability. If you’re both willing to work on repairing the damage, here how to restore trust in a relationship.

An apparent lack of trust would come after an affair. However, there are other ways in which trust is broken. Communication problems such as lying, withholding information, breaking a promise, or not sharing feelings gradually lead to distrust. Once the foundation of trust is broken, everything else begins to crumble too.

Even when trust is broken in a marriage, friendship, or close relationship, it is possible to regain trust. It won’t be easy and it will take real effort. However, it can be done. Chances are, one of you might not feel like working on the relationship immediately. And someone else might be impatient to regain trust quickly. The more patient, empathetic, understanding, and determined you are, the better chance you have of restoring love and trust to one another.
