State security exits Florida visit with an offer in hand

Oak Leaf (Orange Park, Fla.) security officer Hylton Stubbs walked out of Florida’s Junior Day Jan. 21 with an offer in hand, according to a social media post he made after the unofficial visit.
Stubbs, a rising prospect in the Class of 2025, has been to the swamp before, but as the recruiting process gets more serious, his visits become more serious. Florida ticks many of Stubbs boxes. The academics are in, the facilities have been modernized and the coaching staff has settled in the swamp after a year.
“I love the new facility they have there,” Stubbs told Swamp247. “When the coaches spoke, they seemed to only care about their football players. Good communication and they told me how important they are to their players’ education and I think they said they have a 92 percent completion rate within the team. It’s just like they don’t make anyone fail. You are set for greatness.”
During his visit, outside linebacker coach Mike Peterson, safety coach and defense coordinator Patrick Toney, and head coach Billy Napier all spent time with him, which helped make Stubbs feel like a priority target. He called the visit a “dream come true,” but was yet to commit to naming one of his best schools. Still, the sophomore Gators look like they’re in pretty good shape.
Stubbs has been awarded four stars by On3 but has yet to earn a star rating from 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. The On3 recruitment prediction favors Tennessee at 38.9% and Virginia Tech is a close second at 34.1%, but Florida could come out on top and make it a three-horse race after hosting him.
