St. Gallen Concert and Theater Cooperative Council elects Lukas Bieri as head of administration

The board of directors of the St. Gallen concert and theater cooperative elected Lukas Bieri as the first head of administration in August 2023.
Bieri, who is currently commercial director at Zurich’s Neumarkttheater, will primarily be responsible for finance and human resources.
He has a master’s degree in cultural management from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and has many years of experience in the cultural sector.
From 2014 to 2019 Bieri was assistant to the commercial director of the Theater Basel and later in 2019 he became commercial director at the Neumarkttheater in Zurich. He played a huge role in the company’s artistic transformation and guided the institution through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bieri strengthens the management team around the designated director Jan Henric Bogen, with whom he previously worked on the board of the Swiss Theater Association. “I am convinced that he fits perfectly into our team and ideally complements us professionally,” says an official press release.
Government Councilor Laura Bucher, Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the St. Gallen Concert and Theater Cooperative: “Lukas Bieri convinced us professionally and personally in the application process. His career and professional experience prepared him optimally for the task in the management of the Konzert und Theater St. Gallen.”
Bieri: “I am very happy to be able to work at the Theater St. Gallen. Since I grew up in Appenzell, I was able to gain my first theater experience at the Theater St. Gallen. It’s all the nicer for me to be part of a great team and an important cultural institution.”
