Spirited first look reveals Ryan Reynolds & Will Ferrell in the modern adaptation of A Christmas Carol

A series of new posters reveal our latest look at Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer in Spiriteda modern musical reinterpretation of the festive classic A Christmas song. And things are looking pretty classy. Revealed about the official Twitter account for Ryan Reynolds, these black and white posters feature the all-star trio while bringing the age-old story of Charles Dickens back to life. The posters finally feature acclaimed comic book actors Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds together, with Reynolds in particular seemingly enjoying the experience as he embraces Ferrell in one of the warmest hugs ever photographed. The rest of the posters offer a look at Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer, Ryan Reynolds practicing some killer dance moves for sure, and finally Will Ferrell smiling. No doubt he remembers the aforementioned hug from Reynolds.


Spirited has been described as “a modern musical reinterpretation of the classic Christmas ghost story”. A Christmas song.” Of course, the original Dickens story is now a beloved classic, and tells the tale of the short-tempered and effortlessly selfish Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser haunted by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the ghosts of bygone Christmases. Present and Future. Being a Christmas Carol, the story ends with Scrooge learning the error of his ways and transformed into a much kinder and gentler person. Oh, spoiler alert for a story that was first published in 1843 and has since become one of the most iconic stories of all time.

Ryan Reynolds found Spirited quite a challenging experience

Spirited is directed by Ryan Reynolds as Ebeneezer Scrooge, with Will Ferrell on board as the Present aka Ghost of Christmas Present and Octavia Spencer, whose role has not yet been announced. The rest of the cast includes Sunita Mani as Past, Aimee Carrero as Nora, Marlow Barkley as Wren, Jen Tullock as Wendy, PJ Byrne as Mr. Alteli and Joe Tippett, among others.

Reynolds described Spirited as a big challenge for him. “This is a wrap for me on Spirited,” the actor and Dead Pool Star said as he wrapped filming in October last year. “I’m not sure I would have been ready to say yes to such a challenging film three years ago. Many dreams came true while singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell. And this is my second film with the amazing Octavia Spencer… Perfect time for a little sabbatical from filmmaking. I will miss every second of working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. Nowadays kindness is just as important as talent. I’ve been fortunate to work with people who are flush with both.”

Spirited is slated for release in theaters on November 11, 2022 and later on November 18, 2022 on Apple TV+. Undoubtedly, it’s already all set to become a holiday favorite.
