Paramount+, formerly known as CBS All Access, launched in 2021 to unify the brands of ViacomCBS (now known as Paramount Global). That means CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Smithsonian Channel, VH1 and now Showtime are all in one place.
In a world with more and more streaming video services, you can’t go wrong if you can watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, Darya, dexter, gloriole, hometown, Nathan for you, NCIS, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Star Trek: DiscoveryParamount’s catalog of new and classic movies, and live coverage of NFL, soccer, golf, college basketball and college football all on the same platform.
But if you’re unhappy or just don’t have the time to take full advantage of the fact that you’re already paying for Netflix and HBO Max, it might be time to sever ties with Paramount+. This is how you can cancel or at least downgrade your account.
You must visit the Paramount+ website(Opens in a new window) to make changes to your account. If you wish to cancel, go to the website and select your profile. Hover over your profile icon in the top right corner and select it Account. Choose cancel subscription Link under the Subscription & Billing section.
To keep your business going, Paramount may offer you a special discount. Got a 50% discount on my plan for two months when I tried to cancel the service. If you are determined to continue, you can decline this offer. Check the box and then click on it Yes Cancel to make it official.
If you want to keep Paramount+ but save additional money, you can adjust your plan accordingly. From the account page on the web, click the Edit Plan Link next to your active plan. You can then select and click a new plan switch plan confirm.
If you subscribe to the Premium plan for $9.99, you can save some money by switching to the ad-supported $4.99 Essential plan. If the $12.99 premium with Showtime is too much, you can do it with $7.99 ads or drop the package altogether.

For additional savings, you might also want to switch to an annual plan, which is about 16% cheaper than your current plan. Click the link at the bottom of this page to view the annual pricing for these plans. Paying $99.99 for a full year of Premium costs about $8.30 per month. At $49.99 a year for the Essential plan, you’d be paying just over $4 a month.
T-Mobile customers and Walmart+ subscribers can also get the Paramount+ Essential plan for free, so check out these deals if you can.
