Beyond Festival today announced the presence of RRR filmmakers SS Rajamouli as part of a special Tollywood programming “From Tollywood to Hollywood”. Built in partnership with the American Cinematheque, the special program will honor the revolutionary Tollywood director and will feature several Rajamouli films, presented in her native Telugu language with English subtitles.
While Rajamouli gained international recognition after the release of the epic action film RRR, the director is one of the main creative minds behind the productions of Tollywood, the Indian film industry for Bengali language films. So the Beyond Fest program will enable people who enjoyed it RRR to discover other works by Rajamouli, including Baahubali: The beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Eega, Maryada Ramannaand Magadhira.
Rajamouli will also be available for a question and answer session, giving the audience the opportunity to learn more about the filmmaker’s creative process and his past, present and future projects. The question and answer session takes place after a nine-hour marathon Baahubali: The beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusionand Eegawill take place on Saturday October 1st. The program will also have special screenings for RRR on Friday, September 30; Magadhira on Friday, October 21; and Maryada Ramanna on Sunday 23 October.
