Grand Theft Auto 6 could reinvent the franchise
Rockstar has previously indicated its intention to hit higher peaks than 2013 grand theft auto 5, which was critically acclaimed and has since gone on to become one of the best-selling video games in the world. The studio has worked doggedly to create expansive, immersive worlds that delight players with their attention to detail, seeking to push the boundaries with each of their major releases. Other titles that have delivered depth and incredible realism are 2018 Red Dead Redemption 2, which demonstrated Rockstar’s talent for world building and character development. While some fans have gotten angry GTA6‘s lengthy development period has been praised by other Rockstar for focusing on quality over quantity.
Various rumors on social media and gaming forums have claimed to reveal how grand theft auto 6 developed behind closed doors. A report has indicated that the next installment could appear GTA‘s first female protagonist. The protagonist would be one of two bank robbing characters and follows a Bonnie and Clyde style storyline. There has also been a lot of online discussion as to whether GTA6 will “wake up” by taking a more culturally sensitive approach to causes like LGBTQ+ rights. However, the series is known for offering a satirical portrayal of American society while also highlighting prominent social issues such as racism and wealth inequality through its main characters.
This is also indicated by the latest financial reports from Take-Two Grand Theft Auto V recently hit a new milestone of 170 million units sold, getting ever closer to the sales numbers of the current market leader Minecraft. It’s also one of the most widely enjoyed games as its release spans three generations of consoles, making it playable almost anywhere.
