From Major to Article 15, here are some of the most inspirational patriotic movies on Netflix that you’ll love watching.

Mission Majnu

Inspired by true events, Mission Majnu takes you back in time to uncover one of India’s most important missions. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi, Mission Majnu, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna, takes you through the emotions of loyalty, love, sacrifice and betrayal with an action-packed script where one wrong move can decide or ruin the mission.

The biopic is based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred during the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. Starring Adivi Sesh, the film traces the inspirational journey of this brave soldier who saved the lives of several hostages before being killed by terrorists wreaking havoc at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai. This film was also previously trending in the top 10 worldwide. The action drama is available in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

Starring Janhvi Kapoor, the biopic chronicles the journey of former Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena, who serves the country in the Kargil War. Gunjan Saxena, also known as the “Kargil Girl”, flew into the battlefield and rescued several soldiers. She received the Shaurya Vir Award in 1999 for her exploits.

Based on the Kargil War, this Netflix war drama follows the life of a teenage rebel Karan (Hritik Roshan) who enlists in the Indian Army on a whim but leaves after seeing the hard lives of soldiers. Just before war breaks out, he enlists again and shows his courage by serving as an officer, but when this leads to disagreements with his mistress, he leaves.

Aiyaary

Aiyaary, an action thriller, follows a military intelligence officer Jai (Sidarth Malhotra) who goes villain with highly sensitive information about the country. Abhay (Manoj Bajpayee) wants to prevent him from continuing what he started. A race ensues between two of the country’s most complex individuals, both of whom understand the nature of defensive operations.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film stars Nassar and Manoj Pahwa. The Netflix crime drama tells the story of an IPS officer Ayan Ranjan (Ayushmann Khurrana) who fights against violence and caste discrimination. An eye opener for many, this film takes you on a dark and somber journey into rural life in India.

Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, this film features the largest covert operation India has ever conducted – the nuclear weapons test – conducted by a dedicated government official, Captain Ashwat Raina (John Abraham). But to achieve his goal, he must deceive the American intelligence agencies and wage his own wars.
