Race Tips: Sunday Tips from Andrew Mount – March 20th

CHEPSTOW 2.05

BOBMAHLEY (System – Chepstow Handicap Chases, Frontrunner)

Since early 2016 the leaders are 65 of 257 (25.3% hit rate) in handicap chases at Chepstow winning £248.69 to a stake of £1 at SP. The tricky part is determining which horse will win the race before the race, but Proform’s pace map suggests it BOBMAHLEY is the most likely candidate. Tim Vaughan’s eight-year-old made most of the race as he was successful on his penultimate start in the Ffos Las mud. Next time he failed at the same place but this race may have come too early and he has rested for 38 days since then.

CHEPSTOW 2.40

KYNTARA (System – Kim Bailey, first time cheek pieces, hurdles)

Kim Bailey emerged from a 46-race losing streak yesterday with a 15-2 win at Uttoxeter and has had several other losses over the past week. Now the time with his yard could come and be CYNTARA, returning to the hurdles after a modest 24-lengths at Hereford in his pursuit debut (2-1 favourite) in November, is looking very interesting in this first hurdles run. His trainer does well with hurdlers and as of 2010 he is 15 out of 82 when he first uses cheek pieces on his hurdlers to make a £29.00 win to a £1 stake at SP. Kyntara gets the headgear today.
