QB coach rumours, transfer targets and more

The latest Michigan Football QB coach rumors, ex-Michigan Wolverines transfer targets and more in our latest news round-up.
Michigan Football head coach Jim Harbaugh must add a new addition to the coaching staff in the coming weeks following the firing of former QBs coach and assistant offensive coordinator Matt Weiss.
Weiss was fired last week and rumors have swirled about some of the coaches Harbaugh and Michigan football has achieved.
One of the names is Brian Griese, former Michigan football quarterback and current quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers.
A few other names have also surfaced. Tavita Pritchard is one. He was a former QB starter under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford, where he was the offensive coordinator and longtime QB coach for the past four years.
Kirk Campbell is another name to know. He was an analyst under Jim Harbaugh last season but was an offensive coordinator elsewhere. He’s a rising star in the coaching business, and Michigan Football could just stay in the house.
Joel Klatt rips NCAA over Michigan football incident
Michigan fans know Joel Klatt pretty well. After all, the Michigan Wolverines played almost every game on Fox, it seemed.
Well, Klatt had some strong opinions on the NCAA this week. Of course, you probably know that Jim Harbaugh is facing a suspension for taking some recruits for Burger while Florida, as Klatt mentioned, had a $13 million NIL deal for Jaden Rashada and Crickets.
Outright manipulation like Jordan Addison has been ignored and pay-for-play under the guise of NIL is happening everywhere. Still, the NCAA is concerned about an impromptu lunch two years ago.
Klatt basically asked why the NCAA even exists, and we can’t think of a reasonable answer.
More Michigan Wolverines news
In some other quick hitters, former Michigan Wolverines EDGE rusher Eyabi Okie announced his move to Charlotte. There he follows Biff Poggi, his former high school coach.
Poggi, a longtime assistant to Harbaugh who served two separate stints at UM, also landed former Michigan soccer player Julius Welshcof in the transfer portal.
Finally, the Michigan Wolverines women’s basketball team lost a key game in Indiana on Monday night. The 14th-ranked Wolverines lost 92-83 to the sixth-ranked Hoosiers. Michigan is currently fifth in the Big Ten, but is two games behind first place.
If they won, they would only be one game behind. The Wolverines will take on No. 11 Maryland on the road Thursday.
