NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans golf team heads to Montgomery, Texas for its penultimate regular season tournament – the Huntsville Toyota Walden Invitational, hosted by UTRGV on Monday and Tuesday at the Walden at Lake Conroe Golf Club.

FORMAT

36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Teams play a shotgun format with tee times starting at 8:00am

The following other schools have been confirmed to attend the event: Central Michigan, HCU, Houston, Midland CC, Nicholls, North Alabama, Rice, Sam Houston State, Stetson, Tarleton State, Texas A&M Commerce, UIW, ULM, UTRGV (host).

2 – Kyle Bennett 75.0 average, second graders
3 – Henry Augenstein 75.9 average, graduate student
4 – Maximilian Wojciechowski 74.5 average, second graders
5 – Grayson Gilbert 77.3 average, senior


INDEPENDENT:
Thomas Artigas will travel to Montgomery, Texas for the Privateers as an independent. The junior is averaging 77.6 this season, with his final appearance coming at Gulf Coast Collegiate. Thomas has never competed collegially at Walden Lake.

LAST TIME ON THE COURSE
The Privateers finished 8th^th in the Big Texan a week ago with a score of 884. Ryan Fulton took the individual lead into the back nine on the final lap before eventually finishing fifth with a 214 record. Fulton’s first-round result of 66 was the fifth best in school history. Henry Augenstein also placed in the top 25 for the Privateers after finishing with a 220.

FOR THE LAST TIME AT THE HUNTSVILLE TOYOTA WALDEN INVITATIONAL
Two seasons ago, the Privateers fought at Walden Lake. New Orleans finished 12th^th Place with a score of 917. Only Florian Moosmeier finished in the top 25, and it was the first time since the 2019 Southland Championships that no privateer finished a single round on par or better.
