In recent weeks, the same films have been watched in the rotating top 10 film list on Netflix. Save for the new original hits like senior year and Our father, the top 10 was dominated by the likes Den of Thieves, Marmadukeand Lucky Gilmore for quite a while. However, in recent days, another film has made the list that has been met with polarizing reactions since its release.

The film in question is Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryTim Burton’s 2005 version Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, this time starring Johnny Depp as the eccentric candy mogul. The film divided audiences when it was first released with many who loved the original Willie Wonka to think that Burton’s attitude was a little too weird and off-putting. However, the film also has some fans.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remains controversial, but that doesn’t mean it’s not popular with streaming subscribers. Thursday’s edition of the Netflix Top 10 list shows Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as the 8th most popular film in the entire service.
