Rideable Pokémon aren’t new in and of themselves, as players often use Pokémon like Charizard to fly through regions or Lapras to surf across bodies of water. This feature is becoming more common in Pokemon Play along over the years Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Eevee! including 18 rideable Pokémon to choose from and Legends: Arceus Wyrdeer, Ursaluna, Sneasler, Basculegion, and Braviary help the player traverse the Hisui region before it became Pokemonis Sinnoh. However, the forms of Koraidon and Miraidon offer a new development in the history of rideable Pokémon. physics of Pokemon Universe aside, Koraidon’s design has been a point of contention, as the Pokemon appears to have two large wheels on its underside, but still uses its legs to run. The reason Koraidon doesn’t use its wheels, aside from the fact that they are actually air sacs used for swimming, might be related to its name: Koraidon is possibly a portmanteau of the Japanese words Koraimeans old, and raidwhat ride means with put on, a common suffix for dinosaur names. Reverse contains Miraidon’s name Miraiwhat future means. While this points to a larger issue of time division scarlet fever and violet Variants, it also explains why Koraidon, the ancient Pokémon, travels on foot rather than in a vehicle. The question remains as to why the designers went with wheel-like body parts in the first place, however, as Koraidon’s motorcycle-inspired physique has disappointed some fans with its manual maneuvering.

Many unknowns still surround Koraidon and Miraidon from Scarlet & Violet

Although many have speculated that both Koraidon and Miraidon will be Dragon-types, Nintendo has yet to reveal more information about each Legendary Pokémon’s type or ability. Additionally, Koraidon and Miraidon are the only two Legendaries revealed so far, but fans are expecting new ones to be revealed soon as everyone else Pokemon Game has included at least three Legendaries, with Pokémon Ultra Sun and ultra moon with up to 22. This year was revolutionary for Pokemon Games, with the first open world title, Pokémon Legends: ArceusLaunching earlier this year, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet It’s said to feature a similar open-world premise, where players can choose the order in which they tackle Paldea’s gyms. Considering that players are free to explore the Paldea region, Koraidon and Miraidon’s shapeshifting forms should prove extremely liberating compared to previous games where the player had to switch between Pokémon to fly, swim or run, but the greater importance of Legendaries in the game in terms of story will likely be revealed after the game’s launch on November 18th.
