Horizon Zero Dawn, the hit Sony Playstation 4 game set in a post-apocalyptic world, is being developed into a TV series by Netflix. Deadline and various outlets said the project is in its early stages, so no writer, director, or cast has been announced yet. Developed by Guerrilla Games, the Horizon Zero Dawn The game is set in the post-apocalyptic United States inhabited by robotic creatures known as machines of various sizes and scales. Horizon Zero Dawn revolves around an ambitious and clever but outcast hunter named Aloy who tries to uncover the past. Much of the gameplay consists of Aloy chasing and shooting robotic animals that basically mind their own business. So if you like this type of game, this is the type of game you will like. Aloy is the archetypal misfit-savior-chosen that games love to have in their stories.

Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2017 via Sony Interactive on the PlayStation 4. The game was nominated for numerous awards including Game of the Year, Best Narrative and Best Game Direction at The Game Awards 2017. The Sequel Horizon forbidden west Released on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 earlier this year in February. The series has become a quintessential Playstation game, one of the console’s exclusive hits. The storytelling was influenced by the second game mass effect in giving Aloy choices, although the choices are not that profound. Anyhow, there’s certainly a lot of lore for a television series to draw on.

The upcoming series joins Netflix’s roster of video game adaptations, including those by Lance Reddick resident Evil seriesthe cuphead show, one in progress bioshock Movie, Castlevania, and more. Horizon Zero Dawn is another TV project for PlayStation that is currently available The last of us at HBO, God of War on Amazon Prime Video and Bent metal at peacock. The upcoming PlayStation adjustments include the upcoming one Spirits of Tsushima Movie. Whether all of these proposed TV shows actually take place remains to be seen. But then, the purest form of the stories is already in the games when you play them. Meanwhile you can play them including Horizon Zero Dawn on the Playstation 4 and 5 (if you can find the latter, good luck with that!).
