Patrick Mahomes presents Happy Days actor Henry Winkler with a personalized Kansas City Chiefs jersey in a heartwarming pregame meetup…before the quarterback says he’ll be accepting his dinner invitation!
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made Henry Winkler’s day when he presented him with his team jersey last Sunday.
The NFL star met the Happy Days actor ahead of the Chiefs’ 30-27 win over the Los Angeles Chargers and the heartwarming moment was captured on camera.
As Mahomes ran over to hug the actor, Winkler said, “Oh my … oh I’m so happy to be here.”
The player replied: “I appreciate you coming. Yes sir, I got this for you, the jersey with the Winkler on the back and all. That’s what I’m talking about.’

The Emmy Award-winning actor replied, “Fantastic.”
‘Yes! Secure. I appreciate you, enjoy it. Have fun,” Mahomes said.
Winkler, who played Fonzie on the legendary TV series Happy Days for 12 seasons, replied: “I’m having a great time. Many Thanks.’
Winkler expressed his admiration for Mahomes on The Rich Eisen Show over the summer.
Mahomes said he will return to Winkler for his dinner offer once the season is over next year
“He’s one of my heroes. That’s right. I cheer for this team even though I’ve never lived there. I think it’s just phenomenal to watch,” he said.
The actor eventually invited the star quarterback to dinner and Mahomes said he will accept the offer and have dinner with him once the season wraps up next year.
“I’ll take you to dinner though. Off-season, I’ll make it,” said the 27-year-old soccer player.
‘Absolutely. There’s always a seat for you at my table,’ Winkler replied.
Mahomes and Travis Kelce eventually delivered a performance that made The Fonz proud.
Mahomes connected with Kelce for three touchdowns — including the go-ahead score with 31 seconds remaining — as the Kansas City Chiefs edged past the Chargers to stay on top of the AFC.
Kelce got into action by wearing a t-shirt before the game that featured a picture of The Fonz and said ‘football’. Family. Fonzie’.
