After weeks at number 1 in Netflix’s hit drama series ozark was booted from #1 on the streaming charts. The series has been ousted from the coveted position by an all-new addition to Netflix’s streaming library The Lincoln Attorneyan adaptation of Michael Connelly’s best-selling novel series, quickly secured its place as the most popular title on the service right now.

As of Wednesday, May 18, the new series ranked No. 1 on Netflix US, a spot previously held by Ozark, who now ranks at No. 2 after premiering its final episodes. Lincoln i’s attorneyis also successful outside of the USA. In fact, as of Tuesday, the series was the No. 1 global show on Netflix, data from FlixPatrol showed, beating out competing titles including Ozark, which took the No. 3 spot. bling empire, Bridgetonand The Sound of Magic.

The new series, which has an 80% critic rating and a 76% viewer rating Rotten tomatoes, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, plays the role of Matthew McConaughey in the 2011 film. Mickey is an iconoclastic idealist who runs his law practice from the back of his Lincoln Town Car. The rest of The Lincoln AttorneyRounding out the main cast are Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole and Angus Sampson. The Netflix series is based on the second book in Connelly’s series, The Brass Judgment.

Speaking to PopCulture.com ahead of the series’ debut, Garcia-Rulfo praised Connelly for the world created in the books, sharing, “I love it. I have read the books. He’s such a good writer and he really brings the details to the characters. And you really feel the atmosphere of what is happening, of the situations. So that was one thing.” The actor also shared why portraying Mickey was so important to him, noting, “I think it’s important for me to play as a Mexican … I’m very, very grateful for that … The opportunity to have a starring role, on an American TV show, as a lawyer, that was something I am, oh man, that’s amazing.”

Despite The Lincoln AttorneyDue to the immediate success of , Netflix has not yet renewed the series for a second season. However, given the rave reviews and popularity, a renewal seems likely. Both The Lincoln Attorney Season 1 and all episodes of ozark are available to stream on Netflix.
