Netflix is scrapping two completed films and buying in new distributors

Netflix is outsourcing two finished films The Heritage directed by Alejandro Brugues and housewife by Director Dani’s Goulet, revealed The Hollywood Reporter. There is an ongoing wave of several series and films being shelved even after they have been given the green light or ordered. It’s unclear why Netflix decided to offload the genre films, but what sets the streamer’s decision apart from the rest is that it chose to buy in the projects.
According to the report, Netflix’s decision to spin off its titles comes as it plans to maintain roughly the same level of content spending as last year, about $17 billion, while focusing on profits from its 230 million+ subscribers worldwide concentrated. Last week, the streamer reported a massive fourth quarter of 7.66 million paid subscribers, including its new ad tier option. Netflix’s management has also been overhauled, with co-founder Reed Hastings stepping down as co-CEO, with Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters taking over the position in a proposed succession.
Brugues The Heritage takes place on the eve of billionaire Charles Abernathy’s 75th birthday, when he invites his four estranged children home, fearing that someone or something is coming to kill him. To secure their support, Abernathy jeopardizes every inheritance they have – if he’s found dead at dawn, they’ll lose everything.
