Netflix has renewed the psychological thriller series You for a fifth and final season. Penn Badgley is ready to return as Joe Goldberg aka Jonathan Moore for another season. However, Sera Gamble, who served as showrunner for the first four seasons, will not be returning for the finale.
You was developed by Greg Berlanti and Gamble based on the Alloy books by Caroline Kepnes. Gamble leaves the series to focus on other projects. Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo, who executive produced seasons 1 and 2 of You, will succeed Gamble as co-showrunners. Gamble will remain executive producer on the series.
The fourth season of You featured Penn Badgley’s Joe Goldberg, who lived in London under an alternate identity named Jonathan Moore. He ends up obsessively falling in love with another woman named Kate, who works as a director in an art gallery. In addition to Badgley, the series’ cast also includes Tati Gabrielle, Charlotte Ritchie, Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman and Ed Speleers.
4 seasons of You currently streaming on Netflix. The creators of the series have not yet announced a release window for the fifth and final season.
