Mindseye Release Date, Story, Gameplay
When is the Mindseye release date? The teaser for what many are expecting to be a new exciting action game has everyone wondering when the game’s release date is. As part of Leslie Benzie’s, ex-President of Rockstar North, the ambitious project Everywhere, Mindseye is still a pretty big mystery.
The city chases and shootings, plus the fact that Leslie Benzie is behind Mindseye, make us wonder how much of GTA 5 and GTA Online we could find in this game. But it does seem to offer its own unique twists with its sci-fi angle and setting, which you can experience once the Everywhere release date is up.
Mindseye release date window
The Mindseye’s release date is set for 2023, but there are no confirmed platforms for the game yet. All we know so far is that in order to play Mindseye, the online world of Build a Rock Boy needs to be running anywhere.
While Everywhere is a platform where players can create their own games within it using elements from the system’s library, it also acts as an online hub for multiple experiences. Once logged in, you can access different “districts” structured by specific activities. Mindseye is said to be located in the game’s entertainment district.
Mindseye story
As with many other aspects of Mindseye, there aren’t many confirmed details about the game’s story. Looking at the teaser, we can see that this is an action game set in a near-future world. Corporations play a huge role in the gaming world, hiding many secrets and new technologies.
Mindseye seems like a lighter cyberpunk experience compared to other games of the genre like Cyberpunk 2077 or Deus Ex. On the other hand, given the massive baggage this genre brings, we can almost certainly expect to see a story that touches on important themes of cyberpunk as a genre, such as direct conflict with powerful corporations for profits over human lives stand. That being said, we only have speculations based on what is said and shown in the teaser.
The first thing we can assume about the game’s world is that Mindseye is a technology that is central to the storyline, affecting not just individuals but society as a whole. At the beginning of the teaser, we see a man – who may be the main character – touch a small electronic device behind his ear while an android in front of him mimics his action. Whatever Mindseye is, we know that it is a technology connected to an individual’s brain and we can imply that it allows humans to communicate with machines and to control them to some extent.
It seems that the main character is unable to properly control Mindseye. The teaser also shows how powerful corporations are, featuring not only soldiers falling from a helicopter and armored cars chasing the protagonist, but also a glimpse of what appears to be an army of robots. It’s important to remember that Leslie Benzie said Mindseye will launch episodically in an interview with Polygon, and while there is a narrative that connects them, each episode has a different focus as well as different stories within it.

Mindseye gameplay
In terms of gameplay, we have even less information about Mindseye. Based on the Build a Rocket Boy studio’s confirmation that Mindseye is an action-adventure game, and given what the teaser reveals, it’s possible to guess some elements that we might see in the game. First, it’s a third-person game where you can perform various actions with the character, from driving a car to shooting. Since we haven’t seen any gameplay footage yet, we don’t know how your character can interact with the world. On the other hand, given the themes the game is built around, we can expect a wide range of weapons to be used.
It’s unclear whether or not the Mindseye technology will be used as an in-game mechanic, and if there are other types of implants that need to be equipped. But if they are, we might see something similar to the Deus Ex and Cyberpunk 2077 improvements.
Considering Leslie Benzie’s background, we might be looking at an open world where you can drive around, complete side missions, and interact with NPCs. However, it’s hard to tell if this will be purely single player or multiplayer as Mindseye is split into episodes. Benzies said that the second episode of Mindseye will focus on multiplayer in the Polygon interview, but we don’t know if the first episode doesn’t have that feature.
