And suddenly I was deprived of it. And I thought, ‘What should I do?’ I never intended to write a book. But as I went on and kept writing, I realized that actually it gave me a reason to live, and I would go to bed thinking, ‘I’m going to write about this tomorrow… this will entertain me.’ And so it was really a lifesaver because I couldn’t have gotten through this without doing something, you know.
