During his appearance on Monday, the star revealed that he has just wrapped up filming on a remake of the late Patrick Swayze’s 1989 action film Road House.

“They have big shoes to fill, but Patrick was a friend when he was here,” he said of the late film icon and his inspiration.
“When I was quite young, we did a movie together called Donnie Darko,” he added.
Gyllenhaal was 21 when he made the 2001 sci-fi fantasy film Swayze.
“He was always so loving and lovable to me. I take all of that to heart when I’m playing the role and there are some things I take from him, but overall we’ve made a whole new film and I’m really excited about it,” he added.

Gyllenhaal plays James Dalton, this time a former UFC fighter, and takes a job as a bouncer in the Florida Keys, but he “soon discovers that all is not as it seems in this tropical paradise,” according to the the summary.
