Season 1 aired last year and since then, fans have been looking forward to new episodes. Thankfully, the show has been renewed for season two, and we’re definitely getting new episodes as they come out on Netflix. This will expand the Grischa universe for viewers.
The show’s executive producer, Shawn Levy, had expressed his greatest joy at being renewed for the next season. In conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Levy said, “Leigh Bardugo and Eric Heisserer are two such partners; Together they created a world and pantheon of characters that fans around the world have embraced. We can’t wait to take the spectators on the next wild ride.”

Is Shadow and Bone Season 2 Coming to Netflix in June?
As of now, the answer is no. That has been reported shadow and bone began filming for season 2 in January 2022. It is assumed that the series is still in the filming phase. It would take them some time to get the episodes ready for us. Until then, wait a bit.

Shadow and Bone Season 2: What to Expect?

Before we start assuming what to expect and what not, let’s take a quick detour to Season 1. Alina Starkov is a cartographer who is also able to control light. General Kirigan greets them and takes them in. It soon becomes clear that he has an ulterior motive. In another part, Krazz Beker along with Inej and Jesper bump into Alina and tries to kidnap her. But eventually fails. In the finale, as much as the characters believe, we find that Kirigan is successfully killed. Despite being evil, Kirigan survives and learns to command the Volcra.
With this ending to season one, we’re sure Kirigan will make a big comeback. Ben Barnes, who plays Kirigan, had opened up Us weekly that Kirigan is one of the most feared characters of darkness who is also capable of manipulating the universe. In addition, the author Bordugo also spoke Weekly entertainment“He suffered his first defeat in a very long time at the hands of someone he truly believed understood and was in his control…”
Along with Kirigan, Alina’s character is also developing. The actor who plays Alina, Jesse Mei Li, narrated Digital Spy that Alina is getting stronger than before. “But she still has a long way to go, which is a really nice place to leave. We know where she’s going now and where she needs to go,” she adds.
The show is also expected to be inspired by the second book in the titled trilogy siege and storm. The deviation may be noticeable, but the plot remains pretty much the same. Furthermore, we expect that Alina and Mal will team up against Kirigan and the Crows will be back in Ketterdam to face off against the old rivals. In summary, Season 2 will bring a lot of things to the table that none of us expected beforehand.
