A first look at Phoebe Waller from Bridge Indiana Jones 5 was released with the actress as Indy’s goddaughter, Helena.
The image comes via the latest edition of Empire Magazine what also seems to tease the strip is a time travel story.
“She’s a mystery and a wonder,” says Waller-Bridge of her character.
Director James Mangold, who recently quashed all those rumours, says she’s “raunchy, charming, the girl next door, a crook,” and Harrison Ford added that she’s “a pioneer in ethical accounting.”
Legendary composer John Williams also said Helena was “adventurous, and she’s also a femme fatale, she’s many, many things”.
Thank you Kathleen Kennedy for Indiana Jones 5
Phoebe Waller-Bridge also reveals it all came together because of Lucasfilm President and Producer Kathleen Kennedy.
“Kathy was in London and asked to have dinner with me and mentioned it in passing,” Waller-Bridge recalled. “I immediately ordered ten bottles of wine. Then it was the fastest I’ve ever read in a screenplay; I came out of a kind of fog afterwards. I just couldn’t believe how much fun I was having and how moved I was by it. And then I had a zoom and I screamed, ‘YES!’ at the mall.”
Waller-Bridge also said she loved all of the action and the mix of comedy.
“Honestly, I just loved it,” she said. “When you’re playing a character throwing himself into the back of a vehicle, there’s no action around it. You have to fucking do it.”
What are they doing Indiana Jones 5 rumors to tell?
Regarding what the rumors say, it was said that Disney held test screenings where the various endings shown to the audience all had Harrison Ford’s Indy replaced with Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
According to the rumours, the various endings of Indy’s death and/or Waller-Bridge’s character going back in time and replacing Indy compost meaning that she was always Indy and not Ford. Suffice it to say, fans aren’t too happy, leading to Mangold taking to Twitter to blast them off.
That Indiana Jones 5 trailer was also leaked online, teasing “the adventure of a lifetime.”
“I don’t believe in magic, but I’ve seen things a few times in my life. Things I can’t explain I’ve come to believe that it doesn’t really matter what you believe. It’s so hard to believe,” Indy says in the footage.
