In the heart of North Texas, just minutes from DFW International Airport, Big Prairie is a hub for family-friendly attractions and live music—think Lone Star Park, Ripley’s Believe it or Not! and The Texas Trust CU Theater in Grand Prairie – along with shopping, nightlife and more.

But there’s also plenty to do within the city limits, with huge water, land and sea adventures. Here are three of your best bets.

It’s always summer Epic Waters indoor water parkdubbed a “cruise ship ashore” – and with good reason.

The site features 80,000 square feet of splash factor under a retractable roof, with 11 water slides including three unique slides: LassoLoop, Yellow Jacket Drop and Aquanaut.

If you’re not in the mood to get your adrenaline pumping, you can also grab a tube and float down the longest indoor lazy river in Texas, reaching 200m, or join a game of water basketball at the swimming hole.

There’s also a coffee shop, large arcade, full-service bar, party rooms, outdoor wave pool, and a FlowRider where you can test your surfing skills.

Shop until the doctor comes
since 1973, Village of Merchants delivered all goods. The open air market has seemingly endless rows of shops filled with everything you can imagine including car accessories, furniture, toys, clothing, jewelry and many unique finds.

But not only shopping is done here. Amusement park rides and live music add to the entertainment, and there are plenty of ways to recharge after all that shopping.
