The New York Mets are looking for 100 wins when they travel to the West Coast to face the Oakland Athletics on Friday, September 23 (9/23/2022) at the RingCentral Coliseum to start a three-game series.
All three games will be available on SNY and NBCSCA in the New York and Oakland markets, while Game 3 will be out of print on the MLB network. They can all be streamed on DirecTV Stream and fuboTV. Here’s the schedule, all times ET:
- Game 1: 9/23, 9:40 p.m. on SNY, NBCSCA. Stream on DirecTV Stream, fuboTV.

- Game 3: 9/25, 4:07 p.m. on SNY, NBCSCA, MLBN. Stream on DirecTV Stream, fuboTV.
The Mets have already secured a spot in the 2022 MLB Playoffs, but they’re still looking for 100 wins as the regular season nears its conclusion. Right now, New York is 95-56 and has lost a 6-0 loss to the Brewers.
The A’s are in roughly the opposite position, way down the AL West with no hope of a post-season berth. This is the first and only clash between the teams this season. They haven’t evened out since 2017.

Story from The Associated Press
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The New York Mets set a major league record with 106 batters this season when Mark Canha was knocked down twice and Luis Guillorme once in Wednesday’s 6-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.
New York took another hit as the 2021 Cincinnati Reds.
“It’s like a broken record at this point,” Canha said. “We just roll our eyes if it happens now and move on. There’s nothing you can do but capitalize on it, hurt it, and that’s all you can do. Yes, sure, we are frustrated. It’s like nothing great is happening to your team.”
Mets manager Buck Showalter has repeatedly complained about the number of times his players have been hit. He signaled the ball after Guillorme was hit in the left foot by Jake Cousins’ slider in the ninth.
When asked what he plans to do with the ball, Showalter quipped, “It would be obscene to tell you,” before adding, “I gave it to the batting coaches. They can do whatever they want with it.”
The Mets were also slammed in other ways on Wednesday. Mets midfielder Brandon Nimmo injured his left quadriceps stealing second base and left after the first inning. Left fielder Jeff McNeil slammed his right wrist into the chain link fence in a failed attempt to catch Brosseau’s drive.
Canha was hit near the hip on the third and in the ribs on the fifth. He has 24 major league highs this year and at 27 tied last year’s high with Seattle’s Ty France.
“I’m closer to the plate and I’m not moving,” Canha said. “We have a lot of good racquets, dangerous racquets and you have to use good racquets and we get hit a lot.”
A record 2,112 racquets were hit last year, surpassing the 1,984 in 2019. The racquets were hit 1,875 times with two weeks left on Wednesday.
“Teams have to try to find ways to get us out and I think part of the way is trying to throw inside,” Nimmo said, “and you get hit when that happens.”
Cincinnati Pitchers have a record 99 hit batters this year, one more than the Chicago Cubs last year.
