How to customize armor in Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update

Mojang will soon be releasing the Trails and Tales update for Minecraft. This patch brings brand new items, blocks and more. Additionally, a feature of the update allows players to customize the look of their armor pieces. Although they can change their appearance with a variety of skins, these items are almost always hidden when armor pieces are equipped.
As such, customizing the latter objects will be a big deal in the update. To do this, you’ll need to explore many pre-existing structures to obtain new items that you can use to add designs to armor pieces. Here’s a step-by-step guide for the latter in the upcoming update.
Steps to customize armor in Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update
1) Find armor pieces
First you will get a new item called Armor Adornment Forging Template. It is found in several structures in the form of chest loot. There are 11 different types of armor adornments that can be discovered in new structures or via different mobs.
Unfortunately, you must find the former in unloaded chunks, as the old structures may not generate them. Locations such as Nether Fortress, Shipwreck, Desert Temple, Stronghold, Pillager Outpost, Bastion Remnant, End City, Woodland Mansion, Ancient City, and Jungle Temple generate armor adornments.
One of these items has a 20% chance of dropping from a Warden of the Elders. Keep in mind that all armor pieces do not have a 100% chance of appearing in chest loot. As such, you may need to explore multiple structures to find some. The good news is that you can duplicate a molding by combining it with seven diamonds and a specific block that resembles the armor’s texture.
2) Use armor adornments on a forge table with any ingot or crystal and armor pieces
Once you have armor pieces, you need to find or craft a blacksmith’s table. The block will undergo massive changes in the Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update. It will now have a new GUI (graphical user interface) to place smith templates, armor pieces and any ingots or crystals.
The armor pieces found in the structures can be placed in the first slot, any armor pieces in the second slot, and any crystals or ingots in the third. Items in the last category include Diamonds, Emeralds, Redstone Dust, Lapis Lazuli, Amethyst Shards, Nether Quartz, Netherite Ingots, Gold Ingots, Iron Ingots, and Copper Ingots.
Once all three items are placed in the Forge Table GUI, a new piece of armor will be created with a unique design. You will notice that the ingot or crystal used is essentially the color of the customization.
