
Goodwin earned his second All-Big 12 honorable mention last season and made 57 starts at shortstop for the Wildcats. He produced a .255/.354/.525 slash line with 18 doubles, two triples and 11 homers, marking his second straight double-digit homer season.
The Overland, Kan. product compiled a team-high of 48 runs batted and 30 walks while leading the league with seven sacrifice flies.
Goodwin is one of 19 student-athletes to return from last season’s roster, which went 29-29 and reached the semifinals of the Big 12 championship for the second straight year. Other recurring starters include ColeJohnson and Kaelen Culpepper.
K-State opens the 2023 season February 17-20 with a four-game series against Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas. The Wildcats’ home opener is scheduled for Friday, March 3 against Army.
