Games you should play if you love Overwatch

It was a good run though over watch closed its servers forever. Activision Blizzard’s competitive hero-based shooter closed the game on October 3rd so they could prepare for the transition surveillance 2 on October 4th. In a way, you can argue that it’s the same game, but it’s just getting a huge update. However, with the servers shutting down and changes coming, it’s hard not to feel like this is something other than a new game.

There are many fans of over watch out there and they can use this extremely short hiatus as an opportunity to try something new, or maybe they’ve always wanted to find a similar game out there and try something different. This list is for those who truly love over watch but would like to try another game.

Paladins

What happened if over watch did it just look different? Paladins has no shame in how much it was “inspired” by the far more popular hero shooter. It’s a clone through and through, which means it’ll feel very familiar for a long time over watch players, but considering it has a very dedicated player base, it doesn’t seem to bother too many people. Some of the best games ever made were clones, or started out as clones until they grew into their own thing.

how did Paladins has broken up? By having a lot more characters, a lot more skins and some cross promotions. There aren’t many games out there where the characters come from RWBY can go head to head with the engineer Team Fortress 2 or Ares out Hit. That makes Paladins unique and should only find more ways to stand out over time.

Team Fortress 2

Why play over watch if you can play one of his greatest inspirations Team Fortress 2? Valve might be more involved with Steam than game development these days, but TF2 was a masterpiece of a game that is still fully playable on PC. It’s free to play and there’s an extremely dedicated community of gamers who like it alongside games Apex Legends and destiny 2.

The only downside of Team Fortress 2 is that the learning curve for players is quite steep when a game has been active for 15 years. You’ll be up against people who have put literally thousands of hours into this game, and they won’t make it easy for beginners. However, don’t let that intimidate you. Find a character you like, turn off the chat and just start learning. Eventually you will be a veteran with the rest of them.

Apex Legends

Speaking of apex legends, This is another phenomenal game for a long time over watch Players to dip their toes into, but it will also differ the most drastically from the rest. Apex Legends is a Battle Royale, so players will be looking to be last instead of trying to complete an objective, but what makes Overwatch unique are the characters. Every legend in it Apex Legends comes with unique abilities and quirks that help players stand out and not turn matches into a battle of who simply has the best loot at any given time.

There are also some team elements that help apex stand out from other battle royales. Players are paired in a group of three, and while team builds aren’t the end of the story, there are definitely characters that pair up better with others. It’s a different kind of game and one that some over watch Players can find fun.

Brave

Brave was once called the over watch Killer by many fans, but in reality the only similarity between the two games is that they both have unique characters with special gimmicks and powers. So why is it on this list? It’s for those of you who want something that’s less about hero comps or pressing Q at the right time and more about clicking heads.

Brave is a edgy, skill-based shooter that’s far more similar Counter Strike Global Offensive where players with the best instincts, reflexes and aim will prevail. It can feel intense at times, but being such a popular game, there are many newcomers to learn. It has a good learning curve and the heroes are fun. If you thought you were a good shot over watch then consider giving Brave one try.

surveillance 2

Didn’t you agree to any of this? Well then don’t worry because surveillance 2 is still there for you. Despite all the changes, it should still be largely the same game, just with some new learning curves. Many of those heroes that players have invested hundreds of hours into will still be around. It’s an opportunity to fall in love again with an old friend.
