Rizwan had said that players from around the world want to play in the PSL rather than the IPL and also praised the success of the league organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

“PSL amazed the whole world. There was talk earlier that PSL won’t be successful, but even we as players feel PSL is a success. The IPL is here, but if you ask any player around the world who has played in PSL, they would say that Pakistan’s league is the toughest in the world,” Rizwan said ahead of the PSL draft.

However, former Pakistani spinner Kaneria has belittled the wicketkeeper-batsman’s claims, pointing out that the IPL is miles ahead of any other league and praising the BCCI for making the brand as big as the Natinal Football League ( NFL) of the USA.

“Bakwaas baat hai (It’s all rubbish). The importance of the IPL is the greatest in the world and no other league even comes close. The BCCI has put the league on par with the US NFL,” Kaneria said during an exclusive interview with Times Now.

Kaneria added that the best active players attend the IPL, where some of the star players also don’t get a spot, while the PSL is a retired league where players are past their prime.

“When the IPL happens, all other cricket around the world stops. The best players in the world come and play in the IPL, and even a player like Steve Smith hasn’t been selected by any team in the league. PSL teams, on the other hand, are already filled with retired players,” he added.
