Six years later, a film announcement

Six seasons and a movie is finally real after NBCUniversal’s Peacock ordered a feature film closure for Community.

The fan-favorite series, which ran more than 100 episodes between 2009 and 2015, has been a long time coming.

The streaming service has ordered Community: The Movie from creator Dan Harmon. It stars original series stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. Digital platform NBCU won the rights in a competitive situation.

I feel like community fans have been promised a movie for a million years, to the point where it felt like just an empty promise. Well, now it looks like it’s going to happen. Very happy for the community fanbase today.

(Fuck Chevy Chase too.)

Ozzie has been playing video games since he picked up his first NES controller at the age of 5. He has since taken an interest in gaming, but only briefly retired during his college days. But he was retired after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping push the Guitar Hero series forward at its peak. Ozzie has become a huge fan of platform games, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge fan of anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. After all, what are video games if you can’t enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
