Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis remains undefeated with a win over Post University

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis team went unbeaten this season with a win over Post University on Thursday.

The Titans improved to 8-0 with the win. Hugo Car and Lucas Gonzales won their No. 1 doubles match 6-3, earning their sixth No. 1 doubles win together.

Colin Tavares and George Myers Millington shared a 6-1 win in No. 2 doubles and Eric Tripathi and Eavan Attie clinched the win in No. 3 doubles.

With a 3-0 lead, the Titans continued to win and win singles games.

Car went undefeated in the No. 1 singles, went 6-4, 601 wins and is now at the No. 1 singles 8-0.

Tripathi won his No. 2 match in singles with a nice rally late in the second set. After a 6-3 win in the first set, Tripathi fell back 3-5 to Anton Andersen in the second set.

But Tripathi fought back, holding the serve to make it 4-5 and then breaking Andersen to tie the match. Tripathi won the set and match 7-5. It was Tripathi’s seventh singles win of the season.

Jett Leong won the #3 singles match in straight sets, as did Tavares, Myers Millington and Attie.

The Titans, who were ranked third in the latest ITA Collegiate Junior College tennis rankings, will travel to Keizer University on Monday to face off against the JV team before taking on The Citadel on March 31 in Augusta, Georgia line up
